Isaac Ilyich Levitan

A postal block devoted to the great Russian artist Issak Levitan. (1860-1900)
He is thought to have become the first painter of the  Russian scenery who revealed all its beauty.
There is something in his landscapes that reflects our own moods.
On the block you can see his painting "Fresh Wind. The Volga"

It is interesting to note that the master of landscape, he never introduced figures into it. Though if you look at the Autumn Day in Sokolniki — everything seems to bring out the loneliness of the figure in the centre: the trees losing their leaves, the remote, indifferent sky, the path going off into the distance. But the fact is that it was not Levitan who painted the figure. It was Checkov's brother Nicolai who did it. But all the other parts of the canvas belong to Levitan's brush.

Taganay National Park - Национальный парк Таганай

 

г. Златоуст, Таганай. Хребет Откликной

 Национальный природный парк "Таганай" – один из самых молодых национальных парков России. Парк находится в одном из наиболее уникальнейших уголков Южного Урала – в районе Таганайского горного узла, чуть севернее старинного уральского города Златоуста, на границе Европы и Азии

В переводе с башкирского Таганай означает "Подставка луны". И действительно, ясной ночью можно хорошо видеть луну, "сидящую" на одной из вершин Таганая, как на подставке.
Откликной гребень (1155м) вторая вершина Большого Таганая.
Названа так за способность отражать 7 - 8 кратное эхо. Гребень выделяется в системе гор как спина гигантского окаменевшего дракона.
Ходят к нему, чтобы покричать да перевести дух от всего земного и суетного

 Taganay (Russian: Таганай) is a group of mountain ridges in the Southern Urals, on the territory of Chelyabinsk Oblast. A Taganay National Park was established in 1991, with its south-western border reaching down to the outskirts of Zlatoust.

And the word "Taganay"  means "pedestal for the Moon" Really in clear night you can see the Moon as if "resting" on one of the mountain peaks.

Vladimir. Cathedral of St. Demetrius - Владимир. Дмитриевский собор

 

Владимирский князь Всеволод Большое Гнездо носил в крещении имя Дмитрий и считал своим покровителем святого Дмитрия Солунского. В честь покровителя в конце 12 века и выстроил Всеволод собор, богато украшенный белокаменной резьбой.
Рельефы белокаменных соборов, столь много говорившие их современникам, уже спустя два-три века превратились в непостижимую тайну, не разгаданную до конца и сейчас.
Собор используется совместно РПЦ и Владимиро-Суздальским музеем заповедником.

 It is a unique monument of Vladimir and Suzdal architecture and plastic art. It was built in the 1190s by Prince Vsevolod the Big Nest as his palace church. The walls of the cathedral are decorated with carved relieves (more than one thousand carved stones). The carving, resembling a precious garment, covers the whole upper tier of the church.
It's a UNESCO site.
